Murcia celebrates World Tourism Day with four free guided tours (21/09/2018)

The next 27 September will be held the routes 'The Murcia of our memory' for over 65 years, 'Murcia without barriers' for people with reduced mobility, 'Murcia and its treasures' for children between 6 and 10 years and Plural Feminine III

Murcia joins the celebration of World Tourism Day with four guided tours and free.

Next Thursday, September 27, Murcia and visitors will be able to know 'Murcia of our memory', 'Murcia without barriers' and 'Murcia and its treasures'.

In addition another route on Feminine Plural III will be celebrated, in collaboration with the Council of Social Rights.

Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesus Pacheco, explained that "we offer these routes not only to tourists but also to Murcia to know the secrets and ins and outs of our city and thus become the best ambassadors of our Earth".

Although anyone can participate, these itineraries have been designed specifically for people over 65, for people with reduced mobility and for children.

Prior registration is required, which can be done from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 7.30 pm at 968.219099.

'The Murcia of our memory', for people over 65, will be about the evolution of the city in the last century, remembering old places of which some of them have been preserved.

Thus, we will talk about the old Alegría de la Huerta shopping center, El Café del Sol, the Victoria Hotel, and the arrival of its most illustrious clients, or the most glamorous evenings of places like the Romea Theater or the Casino. (Maximum group 30 people).

The meeting point is the Tourist Office of Plaza Cardenal Belluga, at 10.30 am.

'Murcia without barriers' will offer a visit for people with mobility problems in the center of Murcia to places such as the Glorieta, the Cathedral, Calle Trapería and Platería, Santo Domingo and the Plaza del Romea.

(Maximum group of 30 people).

The meeting point is the Tourist Office of Plaza Cardenal Belluga, at 11.00

'Murcia and its treasures' is a route for children between 6 and 10 years old, where with a map of the medieval city and several tracks offered by the guide, you should find some of the most important archaeological and architectural treasures of the city at the same time They learn about them (Maximum group of 25 people).

The meeting point is the Tourist Office of Plaza Cardenal Belluga, at 17.30.

Finally, from the Museum of the City will depart, at 11 hotras, a route that will synthesize in a single visit the different routes of the Feminine Plural III project whose thread has been the names of those women protagonists of the places and highlights of the history of the city like Isabel II, Luisa Fajardo, Ginesa de Heredía or Pilar de la Cierva.

Thus, the Museum of the City, the Diaz Cassou Building, the Silk Factory, the Santo Domingo Square and the Cathedral will be visited.
