Two street shows welcome the new season of the Romea and Circus theaters (19/09/2018)

The Plaza del Romea will host, on Thursday and Friday, from 7.30 pm, two free street shows to welcome the new season of the Romea and Circus theaters.

During the performances the scripts will be distributed with the programming.

Tomorrow, Thursday, 'Esquerdes' will be offered, supported by the Platea Program, which is a circus show that combines the staircase of balances, aerial elements and music through three bodies in movement.

With its own language between tragedy and comedy, Hotel Iocandi places the technique of circus and live music at the service of a universe full of questions about the fragility of the human being.

Hotel Iocandi was born at the beginning of 2012 when Tomeu Amer and Griselda JuncĂ  met after finishing their training at the Rogelio Rivel circus school in Barcelona.

Before Tomeu had founded the circus company Trifaldó and Griselda had completed the fixed trapeze specialization at The Circus Space, London.

During this first meeting they create Esquerdes, a short piece that has been selected for the Caminos Emergentes 2013 project and which has been presented at several festivals in Catalonia, Spain, France and Italy (Trapezi Reus, Mac Arts de Carrer, Europeanne de cirque de Toulouse , Bilboko Kalealdia, Curtcirckit, Kaldearte Vitoria, Brocante Festival, Mercat de les Flors ... among others).

At the beginning of 2013, the singer Joana Gomilla joins the project and together they begin the creation of their first show.

The premiere of the long version of Esquerdes took place in October 2014 during the Escena Poblenou Festival in Barcelona.

During 2015, they performed at Trapezi Reus, Festival Circada Sevilla, Curtcirckit, Casa Elizalde, Fira del Circ at carrer La Bisbal, Festival Mirabilia Fossano ... among others.

Friday will be the turn of 'Move in'.

During the summer of 2017, Fekat Circus performed more than 47 performances throughout Spain, filling squares, theaters and festivals, with great success.

'Move in' is a cry of pain and hope for the situation that many thousands of people live every day in search of a better world, staging the trip with its emotional intermittences, between empty spaces, like deserts and seas, and others full of uncertainty.

Move In is the journey of migrants;

Utopian, exhausting, full of expectations.

The acrobatics, the scale, the rue cyr, the juggling and the manipulation of objects, are the techniques with which the movement of the eight artists is developed.
