Now Murcia asks Ballesta if the youth center of Juan de Borbón "is a new deception of the PP that will never see the light" (19/09/2018)

- "Last July, the Governing Board informed of the beginning of the termination of the contract with this company," thus giving rise, "adds the mayor," to a new chapter in this history of nonsense, failed bids, defaulters, delays of the City Council and, ultimately, chaos and mismanagement "

NOW MURCIA asks the mayor Ballesta if the youth center of Juan de Borbón, "victim of chaos since the beginning of the works in 2010 and still half built, is a new deception of the PP that will never see the light, despite the announcements, the promises and all the public money invested. "

Councilor Alicia Morales recalls that the Government of Ballesta resumed in December 2016 the project left half by Chamber, and that according to Rebeca Perez would be in operation "with courses and activities" in the last quarter of 2017.

"Nothing is further from reality," he explains, "one year after that date given by Pérez, we find ourselves in the same situation as in 2010: there is only the skeleton of a building."

Morales explains that the company that was awarded the work of closing the building in June 2017 has just executed 7% of the works, according to municipal technicians.

Last July, the Governing Board informed of the start of the termination of the contract with said company, "thus giving rise," adds the mayor, "to a new chapter in this history of nonsense, of failed bids, of defaulters , of delays of the City council and, in short, of chaos and bad management ".

Before this situation, Now Murcia has addressed today in writing to the councilors involved the Finance and Contracting, Eduardo Martínez Oliva;

the Employment, Jesus Pacheco, and the spokeswoman of the municipal government and responsible for Youth, Rebeca Pérez, to know "what measures are being taken and what will happen from now with this project." We want to know what is the project and what sustainability plan you have: what staff you will have, if it will be subcontracted ... ".

The municipal training, in addition, has requested the existing reports about the juvenile center of Juan de Borbón from the beginning, including those that are now being drafted for the procedure of rescission of the contract, and puts the accent on the money spent: "We want the information of how much has been invested in these works, how much is still needed to spend and where you plan to take out the necessary money, which is a lot, to finish the works and equip the building with all the equipment announced by the PP. that we are not facing a new project case announced a thousand times over the top but that is nothing more than a hoax

that will never see the light.

Therefore, Ballesta has the duty to explain in detail how much money is needed to start the building, if you have where to get it, and when the youth center will be ready. "

Morales stresses that "a lot of money has already been spent on several contracts, with the works stopped for years and years, and with promises of Ballesta unfulfilled once again, before this enormous chain of nonsense, we demand the explanations that Murcia deserves."
