The Contracting Committee, chaired by the Councilor for Finance and Recruitment, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, has studied this morning the administrative documentation of the 13 offers that have been presented to the execution of the pedestrianization of the Gran Via Alfonso X el Sabio, in its second phase from Jaime I to the Plaza Circular.
Now there is a deadline for some companies to correct errors in the documentation and, once they have done so, the economic offers will be opened.
The renovation, which affects an area of ​​8,217 m2, has a bidding budget of 3,255,637 euros and the planned execution period is 10 months, with the possibility of a reduction of up to 8 months.
The remodeling involves the complete renovation of the pavement and the creation of a modern and uniform urban treatment space.
The proposal that is going to be carried out goes beyond the simple paving of a street for its pedestrianization, since an integral project has been elaborated that orders the whole road and integrates a wide axis of 415 m in the pedestrian grid of the historical center and recover more than 14,400 m² for living areas, completing the most important itinerary of the city, between the river and the new areas of expansion.
In this way, the new model of urban mobility is consolidated, based on the prominence of pedestrians and cyclists, which is now applied to one of the most representative arteries of Murcia.
It will keep the accessibility shot to neighbors and services, taxis, distributions and public services, garbage collection and street cleaning, and respect the historical considerations of the environment, the urban landscape, urban ecology and vegetation and lighting conditions.
Also, the project takes into account the sustainability, comfort and quality of this public space, both for residents and for the rest of the citizens who daily use the central spaces of the boulevard.
