The photographer María del Mar Gallardo inaugurates on Tuesday, September 18, the exhibition `Callejeando entre plantas' at the entrance of the Rector's Office (convalescence building), at 8:00 p.m.
This graphic project is dedicated to the twenty-five streets of the municipality of Murcia that have a botanical name, that is, whose name is that of a plant, a tree, a flower or a set of them.
The choice of streets with botanical name is due to the historical link and dependence of Murcia with its garden.
The exhibition is composed of black and white photographs that extend along the walls of the room in order that the viewer can make your visit in the same way as if you walked any of the reflected streets and locate your situation on the map that collects the location of each of them.
Confronting the sobriety of the photos, the exhibition is completed with watercolors that represent the vegetables that give rise to the toponymy of these streets.
With this project, Gallardo forgets the monumental city to focus on the most everyday.
"I have tried to make my vision as objective as possible, without judging and letting the feelings remain on the side and that it was the space that starred my work," said the artist.
The works, which can be visited from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m., will be on display until October 26.
