The city is preparing for the installation of more than 300 intelligent systems that will interconnect Murcia in real time (17/09/2018)

José Ballesta chairs the meeting of the working group 'Smart Murcia', prior to the morning visit of companies and representatives of Red.es, and reports on technological actions, the Internet of things and the new intelligent systems that are going to install in different parts of the city over the coming months.

Extension of WiFi coverage in squares, parks and gardens, panels that report on free parking spaces, intelligent pedestrian crossings and Environmental Monitoring stations to measure air quality are some of the planned actions.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, today opened the meeting of the working group 'Smart Murcia', which addressed the implementation of the smart city project 'MiMurcia', recognized by Red.es as the most ambitious of all Spain compared to a total of 111 cities, with a budget of 8 million euros.

The mayor reported on the technological actions, the Internet of things and the new intelligent systems that will be installed in different parts of the city over the coming months, after the bidding of the project by the state agency Red.es , whose deadline for submission of offers ends on October 22.

José Ballesta stressed that "our concept of Smart City is to put these technological advances at the service of people to improve their quality of life and the benefits of public services they receive, because the ultimate goal is to transform our city into a more efficient space , sustainable and, above all, equitable and egalitarian ".

The smart city project 'MiMurcia' is being tendered by Red.es through open public tender, with an amount of 7,384,753 euros.

Prior to the presentation of the offers, interested companies can make a visit to the facilities of the City of Murcia and the places where they will implement the different components of the project (CPD, gardens, parks, streets, etc.).

This visit will begin tomorrow in Abenarabi and will also have the presence of the people in charge of Red.es and the University of Murcia, a partner in the project.

List of performances of 'MiMurcia': your Smart, Close, Open and Innovative Town Hall on the Net:

1. Sala CEUS.

The 'smart' brain of the city, the control panel of all the new intelligent systems interconnected in a network that includes the 'MiMurcia' project.

It will be an open door space that will serve as a 'testing laboratory' in which the technological solutions relating to the different management areas of the municipality will be tested: traffic and public transport, parks and gardens, safety on public roads, etc .;

a meeting point for citizens, companies and other Administrations, where technological solutions for the municipality will be presented.

2. Extension of WiFi Coverage.

Improvement of the coverage of the municipal WiFi network of services to citizens and the City Council in 14 urban areas and parks and gardens.

3. Informative panels.

Installation of 4 information panels on the availability of free spaces in 7 parking lots in the city.

4. Smart pedestrian steps.

Detection of pedestrians and warnings by illumination on the road and in the horizontal signage in 4 pedestrian crossings of the city.

5. Intelligent irrigation system.

Monitoring of water consumption and management of the irrigation program in 9 parks and gardens.

6. Sound level meters: efficient management of urban noise.

Supply and installation of 50 intelligent devices to capture noise at points in the city of analytical interest and determined by the delimitation of Special Acoustic Protection Areas.

7. Beacons: promotion of local commerce, through the deployment of 54 Bluetooth beacons in the downtown area and its integration with the application for nearby mobile devices for the notification of promotional offers of interest.

8. Chambers of parks and gardens.

Installation and connection of 20 cameras in the accesses of 6 parks and gardens.

9. Parking meters.

Installation of 25 new parking meters in the regulated parking area that will transmit their activity in real time.

10. Traffic Control System.

Multimedia collection system, traffic parameters analyzer, statistical analysis.

Installation of 50 IP cameras for the monitoring of traffic conditions through artificial vision.

11. Parking reduced mobility and electric vehicles Intelligent parking solution for the control of the occupation in the public road of 26 parking spaces of Reduced Mobility (PMR).

12. Management of Intelligent Public Lighting.

Remote management of street lighting in electrical panels with regulators and point to point in luminaires in 16 locations in streets and parks and gardens.

13. Environmental Monitoring Stations.

Supply and installation of ten environmental monitoring stations to regularly measure and record environmental and meteorological conditions.

14. Citizen Card.

Evolution of the current transport card to a multi-service and proximity smart card system.

15. Mobile Applications.

Shuttle application or reference to contain the catalog of mobile applications, allowing the choice of the app of interest, its invocation or download.

16. Analysis of Tourist Flows.

Origin of visitors in different holiday periods.

17. MiMurcia Platform.

Direct communication channel with citizens, unique web portal for administrative procedures, transparency and citizen participation.

18. Smart City Platform.

The virtual platform from which all the information of the city is controlled: control panel, integral control panel and Business Intelligence.

19. Hardware / Software for CPD and CEUS.

The CPD is the Data Processing Center, the technical room where the embryonic computer systems of the project are currently located.

20. Civil Works and Canalization.

Canalization and civil works to perform the actions of traffic control, information panels, parking meters, WiFi and cameras in parks and gardens.
