Sergio Ramos, councilman of Cambiemos Murcia, has demanded today the Government Team of the City Council to review the subcontracting by the UTE Transportes de Murcia bus cleaning service, popularly known as "los Coloraos".
According to what they have learned from the municipal training, the company in charge of doing this work is violating the labor legislation by paying the workers the minimum interprofessional salary, breaking the agreement of the sector, and not implementing a program of occupational risks on the use of the toxic substances they use every day.
Ramos has explained that "illegal contracts have been made in which workers are forced to renounce their rights, which includes that they can not demand subrogation, as it would correspond to them".
The mayor has asked the full file to the councilor for Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva.
"If subcontracting has been authorized, the conditions should be monitored, otherwise the Government Team has the obligation to sanction the company."
Transportes de Murcia was sued by the workers for not recognizing diseases produced by the use of chemical products without the necessary protection, a situation that they have denounced for months.
For Ramos, the lack of protection of the workers is the result of "chain outsourcing without due control by the Corporation".
