Murcia City Council and Terra Natura are organizing the 'Candle Night' on the occasion of the September Fair (13/09/2018)

During this year the City of Murcia, through the Department of Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, and Terra Natura Murcia, have jointly scheduled numerous activities for all Murcia.

Specifically, this summer, an intense and innovative program has been made, for this reason the 'Night of candles' is repeated again this Saturday, September 15, taking advantage of the September Fair and its success in its previous edition held in June .

This activity allows all Murcians to enjoy the zoo at sunset, since the whole tour will be decorated with 5,000 candles and musical groups distributed throughout the space and tastings.

Tapas and drinks can be tasted from 9:30 pm to 12:00 am on the Island and in the Wetland.

From 23:30 to 01:30 hours you can try desserts in the Lunatic area.

As for the concerts, from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Yolanda Garrido López will be in the Plaza Escuela de Verano.

From 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm it is the turn of the string duo 'The Led Strings' at the Plaza Isla and Jazz 'Blue Notes' at the Humedal.

At 23:30 hours he will play 'El sótano del doctor' in Lunatic.

The animation will begin at 9:30 p.m. with a pintacaras in the Isla area, a children's workshop in the Wetland and a ludoteca with monitors in Lunátic.

Next event: '12 Months with you '

Terra Natura Murcia also opens its doors to groups with specific needs.

The '12 months with you 'program, a pioneer in Spain, will offer a different action each month aimed at members of organizations such as the Diagrama Foundation, AVIDA, Afacmur, ONCE, Proyecto Hombre, Astrapace, Jesus Abandoned, Fesormu, Astrade or Centauro Quirón, between others.

This program is carried out in collaboration with the Department of Modernization of Urban Administration and Development, and Social Rights and Development Cooperation.

The next event will be held on September 30 with the association FESORMU.

It is planned the participation of 20 people, who will be accompanied by a guide and an expert in sign language of the association.

The visit will last three hours and tour the entire park, the rest of the day, the group can enjoy a free visit to the park until its closing at 19:00 hours.

The actions planned each month will be developed together with NGOs and entities that work with all of them, such as the Diagrama Foundation, AVIDA, Afacmur, ONCE, Red Cross, Astrapace, Jesus Abandoned, Fesormu, Astrade, Centauro Quirón or the City of Murcia.

Terra Natura is considered as a totally accessible venue.

The adaptation has been made with contributions from various organizations, which have defined the aspects to be taken care of.

For example, climbing accesses have been adapted, the holes in the trees have been filled, the closures and entrances to the bathrooms have been conditioned, specific areas for people in wheelchairs have been installed and improvements in the hearing system have also been applied.

In addition, a project has been launched that allows the transformation of signage to easy reading using QR codes.

Other activities that have been done this summer

The Summer School has offered a combination of zoo, water park and a host of activities designed for children.

This year as a novelty, an activity has been offered for the older ones of animal robotics, music therapy, emotional intelligence, zumba, yoga or personal defense.

Children from 6 to 14 years have been able to attend the activity 'Sleeping with Wolves', a unique experience that has allowed them to sleep in the park and camping surrounded by animals.

The activity has included a night safari, games, workshops, dances, tents, breakfast and swim in the water park, accompanied by monitors.

This activity will be extended to the rest of the year, adapting it, without visiting the water park but with many other games and amusements.

They have also been able to perform nocturnal safaris and show of birds of prey, offering the possibility of enjoying this guide with or without dinner included.
