More than 400 people make up the security and cleaning device of the Pilgrimage (09/09/2018)

The City Council has prepared a complete security and cleaning device for the Pilgrimage of Fuensanta.

Thus, on Monday 10, the Department of Traffic and Public Safety from the early hours of the morning will establish a security device, for total control of the area, cutting access traffic when the situation requires it.

This will require 84 agents, 16 patrol cars and a crane.

The Fire Service, Environmental Agents and Civil Protection will also be present.

On Tuesday, the day of the Pilgrimage, there will be 208 police officers, 26 radio patrol cars, 32 motorcycles and 3 cranes.

Next to the esplanade of the Sanctuary of the Fuensanta will be installed, from the dawn of September 11, a Mobile Office of Attention to the Citizen of the Local Police of Murcia.

The Fire Service will locate a unit between the Sanctuary and the Theatines, in front of the old Seminary, and another one in the esplanade of the Sanctuary.

The Red Cross will be installed in the esplanade of the Sanctuary and at the crossing of the Valley road to the climb to the Teatinos.

In addition, Civil Protection will mount a service from 6 to 20 hours, with 75 people and 9 vehicles.

This year, in addition, Civil Protection will install two field hospitals, one at the intersection called El Labrador, specifically in the Finca de la Cierva, with 25 members of health personnel and 1 basic life support ambulance and the other at the intersection of Teatinos.

The Rescue Service will be located next to the Fire Department, at the point in front of the old Seminar, and will be made up of 8 people.

The bus service, in relation to the Pilgrimage, will have its stop in the city, in Alameda de Colón, and in Algezares, in Pintor Antonio Roca Martínez street, from where they will return once the Virgin has started the ascent to the Sanctuary.

The cuts or traffic restrictions tomorrow night and Tuesday will be numerous, especially on the Carretera de Algezares, as well as the districts of Los Garres, Santo Ángel and La Alberca.

In this way, the accesses to the Sanctuary from Algezares and from the intersection of the Urbanization Los Teatinos will be completely cut off to traffic starting tomorrow night, while the road that links this district with Santo Ángel, to El Charco, will be prohibited circulation from 7 o'clock on Tuesday and, in the opposite direction, from one hour later.

Normality will not recover until the influx of the public allows it, something that usually does not happen until the afternoon.

Cleaning device

The Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services has also prepared a special device for the Pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Fuensanta.

On the tour will be placed twelve selective collection points and 48 portable toilets.

To give continuity to the public awareness campaigns carried out by the City Council, at the beginning of the ascent to the mountain a caravan will be placed, where a team will distribute 10,000 biodegradable bags with the 4 colors of the selective collection under the slogan of the campaign ' Do not be Marrano 'who will remind pilgrims of the need to keep their city clean and take care of the environment through recycling.

Similarly, another similar caravan will be available in the Sanctuary of Fuensanta where a team of service workers will also request citizen collaboration in cleaning.

Special tram service

The Department of Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility and Tram of Murcia organize a special transport service for the night of Monday, September 10, so that citizens can move throughout the night both to the center and to the concert that is It will be held on the esplanade of the Nueva Condomina shopping center.

This will reinforce the frequencies in the departure times of trams from Nueva Condomina between 21:30 and 00:00 h., Maintaining frequencies of 15 minutes.

From Plaza Circular the frequencies will be 10 minutes until 23:00 h.
