15,000 elementary students will participate in the campaign 'Murcia sustainable city' (02/09/2018)

97% of the schools of the municipality will participate in this initiative that will start with the new school year and aims to promote urban hygiene and sustainable waste management through talks and visits to Cañada Hermosa

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services directed by Rebeca Pérez, together with Ferrovial Servicios carry out the school awareness campaign 'Murcia sustainable city'.

15,000 primary students of the schools of the municipality of Murcia will participate during this course in this campaign.

97% of the schools will carry out this initiative with the aim of promoting among schoolchildren the guidelines of a correct urban hygiene, as well as the promotion of the practice of a more sustainable management of our waste.

The last course, the talks reached 5,027 students in the 4th year and 5,027 in the 5th year, belonging to 153 schools.

In addition, the waste treatment center of Cañada Hermosa has received almost 5,000 students from 116 schools.

This facility has also been seen during this period by almost a thousand people belonging to different groups.

With the start of the new course, the 'Schools + D3Rrs' campaign will start Reflect, Reject, Reduce, Repair, Reuse and Separate and Recycle' During the first trimester of the course, yellow and blue bins will be distributed in all schools to facilitate the work of separation of the waste generated in the centers.

The information offered by the activity, on the one hand, is part of the school curriculum of each level to which it is addressed, thus complementing the established agenda.
