More than 200 streets and roads of all districts of the municipality have been renewed (25/08/2018)

These works include road repair, surface painting of the road and repaving |

The Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services directed by Rebeca Pérez has led to the renovation of more than 200 streets and roads in all the municipalities of the municipality.

The total length that has been asphalted amounts to more than 43,000 linear kilometers.

"These works have been developed over several months and have been completed, all the streets have been proposed and approved by the different municipal councils, prioritizing the asphalt of those that are in worse condition or that are more used by neighbors of the different districts "reported Rebeca Pérez.

The project includes road repair works, road surface painting, repaving and street paving, with the aim of eliminating potholes, peeling, deformation and other damages, thus improving road safety.

To develop these works, the deteriorated areas of the pavement will be repaired first, then a cleaning and sweeping of the entire surface will be carried out, and finally a rolling layer of varying thickness will be laid out depending on the condition of the pavement.

According to the typology and the state of the street, different types of material have been used:

- Microagglomeration: mixture used in rolling layers that provide or restore the surface characteristics of the firm (resistance to sliding, surface drainability and sound, among others), helping to optimize the operation of the entire pavement package and significantly improving comfort and safety of the user at a reduced cost.

- Hot mix asphalt: it is used when there are important defects in the vial.

It is the most widespread type of asphalt mix.

- Triple surface treatment: they allow the construction of low cost pavements, quickly, for low to medium traffic, and on existing pavements it allows to improve the texture and friction.

The Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services has invested more than 1,500,000 euros.
