Last the assembly of the parquet floor and the renovation of the lighting in the Cagigal Pavilion (07/08/2018)

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, visited this morning the pavilion José María Cagigal of Murcia, where the City Council is undertaking the work of conditioning the parquet of natural wood, the renovation of the lighting of the main track and repair of the hockey fence.

The works include the dismantling and subsequent relocation of the platform, a procedure that eliminates the undulations and deformations of this natural material, recovering its optimal state for sports practice.

After its dismantling, the City Council will proceed with its placement tomorrow, so that the sporting activity can be resumed next week.

This municipal area hosts the practice of indoor football, hockey on skates and fencing in the central court, which has a capacity of 1,000 seats, in addition to climbing in the annex wall, one of the largest indoor climbing walls in Spain, with an area of ​​about 500 m² and a climbing height of 15 m.

In addition to these works, the Department of Sports and Health is going to undertake new conditioning works in other municipal sports venues.

Thus, the renewal of the pavement of the sports pavilions of Javalí Nuevo (integral renovation), Javalí Viejo and Puente Tocinos has already been ordered.
