The PSOE demands "clarity" in the work of a water channel in the Rambla de Tabala due to the fear that salt water will damage agricultural production (06/08/2018)

Councilman Enrique Ayuso will move the concern in Zeneta for "a strange construction" and that can threaten the lemon trees in the area by the high degree of salinity of the water that would go down the channel from the spot of El Grajero

The Municipal Socialist Group will ask the councilor for Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden, Antonio Navarro Corchón, what permits the company that is executing the works of a water channel in the Rambla de Tabala and what criteria have been followed to carry out this action.

This has been said by the PSOE councilor Enrique Ayuso, who has visited the area with the Socialist spokesperson at the Municipal Board of Zeneta, Regina Sarría.

The reason for the communication with the Department arises after a group of residents of the district have shown their concern for this construction that is taking place and that is "the least strange."

These complaints led Sarría to transfer the pedáneo mayor, the popular Salvador Cánovas, a battery of questions that will now continue his journey at the City Hall.

Given the lack of information, questions are raised such as: How far will the canalization of the work go? Where will the water be diverted when it descends through the canal? What criteria have been followed to carry out these works? Who is carrying them out?

and if the necessary permits are available for the execution of the work?

"What we do is to get interested in some jobs that arouse certain suspicions and neighborly concern, the channeling that will take the water from the El Grajero spot, which is very salty, and about which there is fear that it will be diverted to the other part of the bridge on the road that connects Zeneta with Murcia and that crosses the highway, reaching the lemon plantations in that place. The high salinity of these waters could cause the loss of crops, "he said. Ayuso, who hopes that Navarro Corchón "gives the pertinent explanations".

"I hope it goes beyond saying that we transfer these questions to the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CSH)", added the socialist mayor.
