The University of Murcia develops a guide of its scientific-technological offer in the sector of Aquaculture (31/07/2018)

This recently published guide is divided into five main sections: services or lines of applied research, infrastructure and scientific-technological equipment, patents, recently developed research projects and UMU research groups linked to this area.

In the words of the heads of the Office of Transfer of Research Results (OTRI), belonging to the Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer, "the objective pursued with this document is that companies and other entities related to this sector can know the capabilities of which our University has, from which to establish possible lines of collaboration that result in the transfer of this knowledge to the productive fabric, which in turn contributes to improving the levels of innovation and competitiveness of the sector ".

"The development of the guide has been achieved thanks to the invaluable collaboration of researchers with links to this sector, since they have been responsible for providing the necessary information for its configuration, while the role of the OTRI has been to energize and coordinate all the work of gathering and arranging such information ", add those responsible for the OTRI.

These same sources point out that "this guide is intended to be a" living "instrument that is constantly updated with contents that are generated by our research groups in relation to the different sections that comprise it, so that this so that companies can have a permanent and updated consultation tool that encourages possible collaborations ".

The document is available for download by any interested party at the address http://www.um.es/empresas

On the other hand, taking advantage of the recent celebration in Cartagena of the day "opportunities for collaboration and funding for R & D projects in the sectors of fisheries and aquaculture", organized by INFO, the OTRI presented the contents of the guide before companies and other research organizations linked to this sector, shelling the scientific-technological capabilities that the UMU treasures in relation to it and exposing some examples of collaboration with companies and research projects recently developed in this field.

The main objective of this seminar was to present the opportunities for collaboration offered by research centers to companies in the maritime, aquaculture and fish processing sectors, in the face of innovation in these activities.

In the course of this event, the participants were able to resolve their doubts about how to access public funding for R & D & I projects in this field.

In addition to the University of Murcia participated in this event the Murcian Institute for Agricultural Research and Development and Food (IMIDA), the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), the Naval and Marine Technology Center and the other two universities in the region.
