Change Murcia asks the local government to prioritize the policies of equality in budgets (25/07/2018)

The councilor of Cambiemos Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, today requested the government team to prioritize the policies of equality and fight against sexist violence in the municipal budgets of 2018, still in the preparation phase.

Guerrero has pointed out that the City Council "can and should do much more" to combat this scourge "beyond the announcement policy" that, in his opinion, marks the performance of the PP government in the Roundabout.

Thus, in the last hours there have been at least five machista aggressions in the municipality, and those responsible in the Consistory must increase public resources, both human and material, to implement effectively the II Municipal Equality Plan.

In this regard, he recalled some of the "outstanding issues" from the beginning of the legalization as the facilities in which the municipal team of attention to victims of gender violence, EMAVI, which "are in a situation more than precarious and it makes it difficult to provide adequate care to the victims. "

In addition, has referred to the importance of betting tools for awareness, prevention and care for victims, as is the case of violet points, which have already been installed in the parties of some districts as El Palmar and will in September at the Murcia Fair, following a motion presented by Cambiemos Murcia.

In this regard, municipal training considers it essential to provide the necessary support so that these spaces reach the entire municipality.
