The PSOE demands "equality of services" in the Vereda de la Basca, which is the boundary between the municipalities of Murcia and Beniel (23/07/2018)

Socialist councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa will raise a motion to the plenary on Thursday demanding that a collaboration agreement be signed between the two municipalities to correct the deficiencies of asphalting and lighting that exist in this way and that both administrations must assume and, at the same time, will urge the Government Team to construct sidewalks in the margin that belongs to the hamlet of Alquerías.

La Vereda de la Basca is a bordering road between the municipalities of Murcia and Beniel, so it is up to both administrations within their powers to maintain this path.

This road has a length of 2,700 meters and a width of 7 meters, in total, of which just half belong to the municipality of Murcia.

The public lighting service is assumed by the City of Beniel and the potable water service, with the exception of 10 homes, is assumed by the City of Murcia.

There is a comparative grievance between the area belonging to the City of Murcia and that of Beniel since in the first there are no sidewalks so that residents can move.

"After the floods of 2016, the asphalt in this road was very deteriorated, carrying the City of Beniel to patch work to correct as far as possible such deficiencies, however our municipality has not been concerned about the repair of its part, "says Larrosa, who has visited the area with the Secretary General of the Murcia Southeast Socialist Association, Fernando González Ortín;

and José Antonio Franco Campillo, Councilor for Works, Services, Environment, Rural Environment and Water of the Beniel City Council.

"There are also problems with vertical signage on some roads that connect with the Vereda de la Basca belonging to Murcia, the Beniel City Council assuming the costs of signaling to avoid possible accidents that may occur and have occurred at the crossing with El Reguerón ", adds the socialist mayor, who considers it" very necessary "to act in this way to put an end to" the comparative grievance between the neighbors for belonging to one municipality or another.
