Thousands of Californian poppies will grow for the first time in the gardens of Murcia (15/07/2018)

These specimens are replanted by themselves year after year.

They can already be seen in the Floridablanca garden and in the palm grove of Santiago and Zaraiche.

"We innovate and take care of our green areas and gardens because we understand that they are spaces for socialization, learning, meeting and union between family and friends" José Guillén has informed

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, directed by José Guillén bet once again for innovation and originality in the flower plantations of the city, planting thousands of seeds of California poppies.

These specimens offer many advantages, they open during sun hours and close at night and are replanted by themselves year after year, since they are implanted in the field.

They are also different flowers to those that are usually planted in the gardens of Murcia, creating a new visual spectacle.

"We are going to see the evolution of these poppies since it is the first time they are planted in Murcia, we innovate and take care of our green areas and gardens because we understand that they are spaces for socialization, learning, meeting and union between family and friends" José has informed Guillen.

These plantations can already be seen in the garden beds of Floridablanca and Palm Grove of Santiago and Zaraiche in Murcia.

More flowers in the San Francisco Plano flower beds

continues working in the parterres of the Plano area of San Francisco.

To do this, several steps without exit that existed in the cobbled area attached to the Segura River have been eliminated.

The elimination of these two steps, next to the side of the Segura River and the old Hotel Victoria, will mean the expansion of the space of the current parterres, which will create a visual improvement that can be contemplated both by the citizens who circulate through the road as for those who walk on the sidewalks.

In this way, the parterre will have a greater number of seasonal flowers that fill that central area of Murcia with color.

"We maintain our commitment to improve the quality of life of the neighbors, creating green areas that can be enjoyed by all and eliminating obstacles to make a more comfortable and accessible city," stressed José Guillén.
