The facade of the Moneo building will be illuminated this week on the occasion of the International Folklore Festival (09/07/2018)

The façade of the building next to the Town Hall is dyed from tomorrow with different colors that correspond to the flags of the countries participating in the Mediterranean Folklore Festival.

This measure taken by the City Council at the request of the Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services and in collaboration with the Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs directed by Jesús Pacheco.

Twenty activities make up the 51st edition of the International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean.

In addition to ethnography seminars, reading poems and live painting, the 10 participating groups will perform different performances in the streets and squares of Murcia.

The groups participating in this edition come from the Philippines, Hungary, Russia, Albania and Mexico, which are added to those from Murcia, Cáceres and Cantabria.

The colors of the flag of the participating countries each day will rotate every two minutes.

Tomorrow is the turn of Spain, Albania, the Philippines;

Hungary, Mexico and Russia.

On Wednesday they repeat Spain, the Philippines, Hungary and Russia.

On Thursday the colors of Spain, Albania and Mexico will be the protagonists and on Friday, all countries will participate again.

This action aims to give visibility to the International Folklore Festival and pay tribute to the countries that participate.

In addition, it is a light show for all residents of Murcia and a way to inform about the groups that will perform the different actions in the streets and squares of the city.
