The City Council has already approved the bases of the XXVIII International Contest of Bands of Music City of Murcia whose objective is to encourage and stimulate the musical activity as a fundamental part of the cultural heritage and to bring to the citizens a rich program of musical activities.
This contest will take place on November 10 and 11 at the Romea Theater.
The registration period will begin the day following the publication of these rules in the BORM and will end on July 31 and the registration will be made in the Festival Office.
Spanish bands, non-professional, and compulsorily enrolled in any of the federations belonging to the Spanish Confederation of Musical Societies may participate.
The number of musicians for each participating band will be for the First Section from 71 to 95 musicians and for the Second Section from 51 to 70 musicians, with a maximum of three participating bands per section, of which one place is reserved for bands of the municipality of Murcia in each of the sections.
The obligatory works corresponding to each Section in the present edition are for the First Section the Ballet Suite of Josep Miquel Martínez.
And for the Second Section The Saturn Rings of Salvador Luján.
The prizes will be the following:
First Section: 1st Prize 2,000 euros, 2nd Prize 1,600 euros and 3rd Prize 1,200 euros
Second Section: 1st Prize 1,800 euros, 2nd Prize 1,500 euros and 3rd Prize 1,100 euros
