The City of Murcia launches two innovative projects to continue encouraging the use of electric vehicles and position itself as a city of reference nationally and internationally in this area, following the roadmap marked by the local strategy of the electric vehicle of Murcia : the app E-fast park Murcia and new electric vehicle charging stations.
"Murcia has been able to design tailored projects designed and driven from the framework of public-private collaboration with which its local strategy of the electric vehicle was born.
Now we present the project 'E-fast park Murcia', a measure that will bring a very positive impact to our city, adding to other projects that are already underway with the aim of promoting electric mobility in the city, "Antonio says. The project 'E-fast park Murcia' consists in the reservation of 50 parking spaces exclusively for electric vehicles whose occupation or availability is monitored by a network of detection sensors embedded in the parking spaces that are connected to an APP.
Thanks to this, any driver can know in real time if the seats are free or occupied by consulting the APP and can plan their trips to the city center.
The exact location of the 50 parking spaces that are part of the project has been selected through a study of the university.
A multitude of parameters have been used to select the best locations to reserve parking spaces for electric cars, in particular the population density of each location, the total number of parking spaces on the street, its capacity and the existence of mobility attraction centers, among others.
New charging points for electric vehicles
Apart from the presentation of this app, the councilor for Urban Planning, Environment and Garden, Antonio Navarro Corchón has taken the opportunity to inform about the status of the installation works of the new municipal charging points, an extension of these free points for vehicles electric
These recharging points are the following:
1.- Glorieta de España, together with MUyBICI-.
It is already operational.
2.- Plaza Circular fiende to Colegio Capuchinos- It is already operative.
3.- Paseo de Florencia, esq.Hospital Mesa del Castillo- It is already operational.
4.- Avenida Rio Seguro, Esq Ambrosio Salazar- In execution
5 and 6.- Jaime I the Conqueror Street- In execution (Double).
"These measures are priorities for the residents of Murcia, were the best valued by citizens in the strategy of the electric vehicle, for the positive benefits in the environment and the reduction of CO2 emissions," concludes Antonio Navarro.
