Sports will invest more than 1.7 million euros in providing artificial turf and changing rooms five football fields (29/06/2018)

The projects, which will be drafted by Urbamusa, include criteria to make them environmentally sustainable and turn them into bioclimatic spaces, taking advantage of natural resources to reduce environmental impacts and reduce energy consumption

Sangonera la Seca, Sangonera la Verde, Corvera, Los Ramos and San Jose de la Vega will receive an investment of 1,752,000 euros in football fields and construction of costumes.

The projects will be drafted by Urbamusa, according to the agreement adopted today by the Governing Board, and will have criteria that will make them environmentally sustainable infrastructures, with reduction of energy consumption, water saving, recycling and waste management.

In Los Ramos and San José de la Vega it is planned to build locker rooms, enclosure and replace the albero by artificial turf, with a budget of works, drafting and construction management of 582,000 and 450,000 euros, respectively.

With these works, Murcia will have a network of 36 soccer fields of artificial turf, 33 of them in districts, and two fields of natural grass (Old and New Condomina).

On the other hand, Urbamusa will also be responsible for drafting the new wardrobe projects in Sangonera La Verde, Sangonera La Seca and Corvera, with a total cost of 250,000, 250,000 and 220,000 euros, respectively.

The sustainability criteria will have a fundamental relevance in these works.

Thus, the changing rooms will become a perimeter bioclimatic space taking advantage of available natural resources (sun, vegetation, rain, wind) to reduce environmental impacts, trying to reduce energy consumption.

It is about making a responsible construction with the environment and using resources efficiently throughout the life of the construction, obtaining greater thermal comfort and the use of materials mostly non-toxic construction backed by environmental statements.

In addition, it will be used as protection for players during game breaks, taking advantage of the fact that it is a perfectly ventilated space and protected by the use of a traditional ceramic material that allows perfect ventilation and renewal of the air.

Natural lighting

Two changing rooms will be built for use by 4 teams (2 teams playing and 2 teams ready to play), 2 changing rooms for referees, nursing-physiotherapy room, concierge-control room, male and female toilet modules, room for facilities, warehouses and cleaning room.

The changing rooms have natural lighting at the top, contributing to energy savings while achieving greater privacy in the dressing room area and increasing safety.

Regarding the soccer fields, a lawn with cushion pad will be used, which has greater durability, capacity to absorb impacts and help take care of the health of the users of the sports pavement, among other advantages.

It therefore contributes to environmental improvement, such as reducing energy consumption, saving water, recycling, waste management, etc.

In addition, advantages are also obtained by the use of cork against conventional granulated rubber filling.

Among others, the lower heating of the field, drains moisture, has no smell, is not compact, is not flammable and has a great capacity of impact absorption.

Also, they will lack microorganisms and will be more ecological, since cork is a natural product, it is not toxic and it is biodegradable.
