The City of Murcia, through the Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services directed by Rebeca Pérez, continues to make progress in the pedestrianization of Alfonso X according to the planned planning.
Concrete and paving work is currently being carried out in the vicinity of Santa Clara Street and in the next few days the work will continue in phase 2A, corresponding to the other half of the central walkway from Gutiérrez Mellado Street to the dead end street. lateral of the Jesús María school, which will run during the non-school period, until August 30, in order not to affect the entrance and exit of the educational center during the course.
For its part, phase 2B, which includes the other half of the central promenade, from the cul-de-sac on the side of Jesús María School to Enrique Villar Street, will take place from August 31 to October 19.
Regarding the archaeological remains that appeared near the school Cierva Peñafiel, Pérez has reiterated that they have been analyzed and supervised by archaeologists, both by the municipal archaeologist and by the company hired, with the supervision of the Autonomous Community, as always working on this type of actions.
"The works are being carried out by manual excavation, as indicated by the archaeologists, for their assessment, respecting every step that has to be taken according to the technical reports," said Rebeca Pérez.
