The City Council acquires a central location of about 500 m2 on Calle Mayor, with an investment of 720,000 euros.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, attended this morning the signing ceremony before a notary of the deed of sale of the premises where the first Senior Center of Espinardo will be located, a large area of ​​about 500 m2, located on Calle Mayor.

"The construction of this Senior Center is an act of justice with all those people who during their entire life have given the best of themselves to our society and responds to a historic claim of the elders of Espinardo," said José Ballesta, In an act in which he was accompanied by the Councilor for Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, Rafael Gómez -who signed the deed-, the councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, the councilor for Finance and Contracting, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, members of the Corporation and the future users of the facilities.

The City has made an investment of 720,000 euros in the acquisition of this space of a total of 467 m2 located in the central street of the neighborhood, which will improve the quality of life and well-being of users.

Although there are approximately 240 members of the Elderly Social Center of Espinardo, the new facilities will allow the number of beneficiaries to grow exponentially, since Espinardo is one of the most populated neighborhoods of Murcia, with more than 11,500 inhabitants.

The next step will be the elaboration of the construction project by Urbamusa, after the order made by the Municipal Board.

Extension of the Senior Center of San Miguel

This action is added to the one carried out on the same line by the City Council in the Senior Center of San Miguel de Murcia, acquiring a place adjacent to the current Center, to expand these central facilities, which register a permanent activity.
