Murcia change tomorrow will take a proposal to support the collective of lesbians, gays, transsexuals, bisexuals, intersex and queer that goes "beyond" the motion presented by all municipal groups to raise, in addition, the adhesion of the City Council to manifesto of the LGTBIQ Regional Platform and the Pride of Murcia Social Assembly 2018.
Margarita Guerrero, councilor of the municipal training, explained that her group supports the objectives of the joint initiative so that the Consistory joins the manifesto of support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) to LGTBIQ recognition, although it has considered that it is necessary "a greater institutional impulse" on the part of this Administration.
Thus, in its proposal, Cambiemos Murcia raises the need for the Consistory is involved in the implementation of active policies, initiatives and activities to commemorate the LGTBIQ International Day of Pride, which is held this Thursday, along with the collectives of the municipality , "beyond the placement of a rainbow flag" on the facade of the town hall twice a year as recommended by the Law.
"As an open and permeable city, committed to equality, Murcia must show strong and visible support in the celebration of this day, providing the necessary economic and organizational resources and making it clear that the City Council is committed to human rights and the visibility LGTBIQ ", has maintained Guerrero.
This year, the celebration of the Pride joins the recent decision of the World Health Organization (WHO) to stop considering trans identities as a mental disorder and the Court of Justice of the European Union (UTE), which has ruled that same-sex marriages will have the right of residence recognized throughout the EU regardless of the laws of the country.
