130 dancers from 6 to 60 years old will take the stage next week at the Dance Show for Diversity (27/06/2018)

The next day, July 5, will be held at the Regional Auditorium the Dance for Diversity gala, promoted by the Association for People with Down Syndrome, Assido, member of Full Inclusion Region of Murcia, in which up to 130 dancers with syndrome of Down and intellectual disability will go through the stage, with ages between 6 and 60 years.

The collection obtained will be used to maintain the collective workshops.

Tickets are already on sale at the price of 10 euros and can be purchased on the day of the gala at the box office of the auditorium or earlier in the center of Assido in the Bohemian Plaza of Murcia.

This year's show, designed by dancer and choreographer María Giménez, responsible for dance in Assido, is entitled 'MoMu: Move & Music'.

The show has the collaboration of the Obra Social "la Caixa", Iglú Interiorismo and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, which facilitates the use of the Auditori, while the City of Murcia supports the dissemination of the sample by ceding the use of 'mupis' 'for you to advertise the show.

Precisely, the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, accompanied by the president of the association of families Assido, Juan Carlos Sanchez, has presented the poster of the exhibition and has invited all Murcia to clothe artists with Down syndrome on next Thursday, July 5.

Assido supports more than 330 people with Down syndrome and intellectual disability to achieve maximum autonomy and personal development.

To do so, it manages centers in Murcia and Casillas - in addition to two sheltered homes - with which it covers from early care (from zero to six years), to training for employment.

Land sold to CEPAP

The next project of the families of Assido is a residence and Center for the Promotion of Personal Autonomy (CEPAP) with which it will cover the life cycle of each person.

This center will be built on the Prince of Asturias Avenue in Murcia where they already have land transferred by the City Council.

Assido is driven by more than 300 families from Murcia and other points in the region that have a member with Down syndrome or intellectual disability.

It is a non-profit association that celebrated its 35 year history in 2016, which makes it the second oldest veteran in Spain specialized in supporting people with Down syndrome.

In addition, Assido integrates, along with 26 other entities, the federation of associations Plena Inclusión Region of Murcia, which represents more than 3,000 families of people with intellectual disabilities and development.
