Eva Mauricio illustrates the LI edition of the International Folklore Festival (25/06/2018)

The aquiline painter Eva Mauricio has been commissioned to create the poster announcing the LI International Folklore Festival to be held from 9 to 13 July.

In this LI edition, the Murcian groups Francisco Salzillo, Virgen de la Vega and Peña la Crilla will participate, together with Cáceres, Cantabria, Hungary, Albania, Russia, the Philippines and Mexico.

The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, explained that "the festival seeks the proximity of folklore with the public, presenting it in an easy and entertaining way, the city will become during these days a lively and continuous scene, through the realization of the activities in streets and squares ".

Eva Mauricio (Águilas, 1969) has a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of San Carlos de Valencia.

She obtained a position as Professor of Drawing and Visual Arts in 1994 and since then she has been working as such.

He began to participate in solo and group exhibitions during his last university years: Galería Velázquez (Valencia, 1990), Palau de la Música in Valencia, Galería Gavernia (Valencia) and La Muralla (Cartagena, 1991).

He obtained mention (1990) and first prize of painting and second of sculpture in the Regional Contest of Young Artists (1991).

In 1993 he held his first solo exhibition in Murcia in the Sala Caballerizas de los Molinos del Río.

And the last ones in the Galería Léucade (2016) and in the José Carrilero Museum (Caravaca de la Cruz, Jubilee Year 2017).

He has participated in several collective exhibitions, the most recent in the Galería Léucade and the Galería Chys (2016 and 2017).

She has also been selected to participate in various Visual Arts competitions: Víctor Villegas Auditorium (1998), Las Claras Cultural Center (2001), Caballerizas Room (2002).

The most recent, in the XVII Prize of Plastic Arts of the University of Murcia (Palacio Almudí, 2018).

He has also participated in the Affordable Art Fair (Milan, 2017) and ArtMadrid (2018).
