Social Rights designs a plan to improve the lives of minors, families and ethnic minorities in the Los Rosales neighborhood Among the measures that will be implemented include those aimed at supporting the educational process and the reduction of abs (22/06/2018)

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, led by Conchita Ruiz, will promote a plan of social and community intervention in Los Rosales aimed at improving the lives of children, families and ethnic and cultural minorities of this neighborhood, considered of preferred performance due to the risk of social exclusion.

The project, awarded today by agreement of the Governing Board, involves the development of a comprehensive work plan based on the social diagnosis of the environment.

It is, therefore, a complementary program to those carried out by the municipal social services in this neighborhood, among them, aid to support schooling, the program for prevention, monitoring and control of school absenteeism or educational reinforcement.

In this case, the work will be carried out from a global perspective, both for children and adolescents and their families, covering each and every one of the dimensions of growth and maturation of the individual, from the personal, group and social perspective.

With the aim of seeking an inclusive growth, aimed at strengthening employment, social and territorial cohesion, intervention proposals will be promoted from different areas to address the improvement of the quality of life.

In this way, special attention will be paid to vulnerable groups and ethnic and cultural minorities;

to formal and non-formal education, to support the educational process and the reduction of absenteeism, dropout and school failure;

to leisure and free time, attending to this appropriate activities to all the evolutionary stages, seeking respect and tolerance to the difference;

to health, encouraging healthy life habits;

to housing and infrastructures, promoting actions for the use and care of housing;

to the economy and employment;

and participation, volunteering and networking.

The project will be developed throughout the year, with more than 5,200 hours of work, which will involve three social educators, a psychologist and leisure and free time monitors.

The Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation will allocate a budget of 243,000 euros to this contract, awarded to 7 Collective Imagination of Sociocultural Animation, Leisure and Free Time SL for a period of two years.
