Now Murcia denounces that Ballesta uses "ADN" to usurp the powers of the municipal councils (22/06/2018)

The spokeswoman of Now Murcia says that they are "even offensive cases such as the neighborhood of La Paz, abandoned for decades and with serious social problems and to which Ballesta now has the nerve to present itself with superficial actions and that do not solve anything"

NOW MURCIA denounces that Mayor Ballesta uses the 'DNA' project to usurp the powers of the municipal boards, which belong to them according to the Regulation of Citizen Participation, some meetings in which the PP can no longer act at will because it does not have of absolute majorities ".

In this sense, Alicia Morales affirms that it is "an exercise in antidemocracy, which invents subterfuges to shamelessly skip the channels and democratic and transparent processes."

The spokeswoman of Now Murcia says that "opacity is being the hallmark of 'DNA', from which everything is known to jump in the media, with explanations of the PP Government very vague that never include aspects such as the budgeted cost for the project in each neighborhood or district, nor the global cost, nor what people are working on this project ".

In this line, the councilor emphasizes that "who is giving the face in the different presentations of 'DNA' in neighborhoods and districts is an eventual worker of the PP, instead of a technician or a municipal official, as would be expected."

Therefore, now Murcia has written today to the mayor Ballesta to request information about the actions to be carried out in each neighborhood and district and what is the implementation schedule.

The municipal training has also asked about budgeted expenditures and investments, disaggregated by districts and by actions, in addition to the companies hired and the cost of the services they provide, as well as the budget allocated to advertising and propaganda.

The information required by Now Murcia to Ballesta, finally, refers to the staff that works and will work in 'ADN' in management, planning, coordination and execution tasks, as well as the existing relationship between these workers and the City Council.

The councilors of Ahora Murcia attended yesterday afternoon the presentation of 'DNA' in the neighborhood of La Paz, which allows Morales to claim that they are "even offensive cases such as La Paz, abandoned for decades and with serious problems social and to which Ballesta now has the nerve to present himself with superficial actions that do not solve anything "

The spokeswoman of Ahora Murcia notes that "it is impossible not to notice a clear electoral purpose and pure marketing in this new campaign of the PP, which is expected to be completed, 'coincidentally', at the doors of the municipal elections of 2019. If there were no elections,

there would be the 'DNA' project, it's that clear.

There is no interest on the part of Ballesta for neighborhoods and districts, or any interest in participation, or interest in neighbors.

It only guides them to skip to the municipal boards and try to position themselves in the face of the upcoming elections. "

For the mayor, "the lack of information of Ballesta to the municipal boards and political groups is especially serious, because it is the boards, in daily contact with neighbors, who know best what are the needs of the districts and priorities" .

The PP is selling 'DNA' as a neighborhood participatory process, when it is not participatory or neighborhood, and is causing a multitude of complaints among associations and groups in the neighborhoods and districts. "

"There has been no consultation with municipal boards," denounces Morales, "on what are the priorities of the neighborhood or parish, there have been no previous meetings or have been reported to the pedáneos, which causes that they are programming interventions that are not urgent The priority ones are already disguising as an interest for the municipality what is only the PP's interest for its party, its seats and its electoral results ".
