The neighbors of the Infante premiere four new gardens to enjoy a leisure in quality family (20/06/2018)

New children's games, sports courts, shady living spaces, gerontogimasia devices and elimination of architectural barriers revitalize the public spaces of the neighborhood.

The works, which have involved the renovation of 12,000 m2 of green areas, have included the installation of new anti-vandalism furniture with anti-graffiti treatment, to ensure its good condition.

The work promoted by the City Council has given work to a score of unemployed people.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, and the Councilor for Pedanías, Participación y Descentralización, Marco Antonio Fernández, visited this morning the four green areas of the Infante neighborhood, which they have just been renovated in an integral way and allow to enjoy a quality family leisure.

The parks and gardens benefiting from the improvement work promoted by the City of Murcia are the Jardin de la Calle Pintor Rosique, the Plaza de la Enseñanza, San Juan de la Cruz Avenue and San Benito Square.

The surface of renewed green areas reaches 12,000 m2.

The works, which began in December and have just concluded, have included the installation of anti-vandalism furniture, new areas for children's games and renovation of existing ones, sports courts, geronto-gymnastics, shading, landscaping, painting, gardening, improvement of accessibility with the creation of cobbled corridors, elimination of architectural barriers, renovation of the fence and irrigation network.

The works of renovation of the green areas of the district of the Infante have employed a score of unemployed people.

In this way, the action has had a social component, as for its execution were selected 21 people who were unemployed, most of them with ages over 55: three foremen, 15 masonry officers and three officers of gardening.

The City of Murcia has financed the sum of materials, auxiliary means, machinery and study of Safety and Health, while the SEF has subsidized the workforce.

In addition, José Ballesta recalled that "in the neighborhood of the Infante the City will build one of the nine 'playgrounds' with which the municipality will have a wide and innovative area for leisure and sports for both children and adults, that will host the Juan Torres Fontes garden, and whose project will be written soon. "
