The UMU participates in a scientific dissemination program that begins tomorrow on TVE (19/06/2018)

The UMU is one of the 27 Universities that, at the initiative of the Audiovisual and Multimedia working group of CRUE Comunicación of the Spanish Universities, have co-produced SUSTAINABLE UNIVERSE, a series of transmedia innovation for the dissemination of science that allows the possibility of interaction through the red button of any Smart TV.

The series has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness and the company Microsoft Corporation.

The initiative responds to a project where researchers from the Spanish university scientific community expose some of the major topics of social interest.

TVE will begin on Wednesday, June 20, the emissions of the series "Sustainable universe" through the program "The adventure of knowledge" of the 2, daily morning program for educational training and scientific dissemination (starts at 9.55 am).

The first program will be aimed at Cybersecurity, and will involve Manuel Gil Pérez, professor of the Faculty of Computing at the University of Murcia;

Jordi Herrera, Autonomous University of Barcelona;

Fernando Miró, Miguel Hernández University;

Enrique Puertas, European University;

Ricard Martínez, University of Valencia, and Rafael Estepa Alonso, University of Seville.

Once all the documentary programs have been issued, the University of Murcia will be able to use them in their own audiovisual media.

The first broadcasts will answer the questions: Is the future accessible? Is it a secure network?

o Cancer, a chronic disease ?, among others.

The digital multicast of the entire coproduction will be broadcast, in addition to the second channel of the Spanish public TVE, also through Internet containers, websites of each participating university in the project and the own one of CRUE Universities, as well as in the main social networks.

SUSTAINABLE UNIVERSE seeks to strengthen the relationship of society with the scientific community.

The initiative intends that researchers and experts explain in a simple way key research related to technological and technological advances that will have important impacts in the immediate future.

The series consists of two seasons of 12 chapters each.

The project is the result of a co-production of audiovisual services and scientific communication units of 27 universities belonging to CRUE.

Currently, work is already underway on the pre-production of the second season that will take place next year.

With this format, the Universities intend to publicize the scientific and social advances that can facilitate the daily activities of people and contribute to the improvement of their quality of life.
