The journalist and writer Carlos del Amor will close the reading clubs of the social centers for the elderly (17/06/2018)

In the municipality there are 17 reading clubs in which 200 elderly people have participated |

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation led by Conchita Ruiz, along with the Cultural Association of Teachers of Murcia, Acdomur and the Friends of Reading Foundation, has organized the end of the academic year The 17 Reading Clubs that have taken place in the different senior centers of the municipality.

The event will take place tomorrow from 18:00 in the auditorium of the Regional Archive of Murcia.

In the act will be present the journalist from Murcia Carlos del Amor who will talk about his work, cultural value and writing.

To this day, the more than 200 elderly people who participate in the Reading Clubs are invited, as well as the volunteers who coordinate and energize this activity in the elderly centers.

These clubs began more than 19 years ago, with the first ones being those of the senior centers of La Flota and Vistalegre.

The last one to join was Casillas.

The voluntary associations that organize these Reading Clubs are Acdomur, in charge of the elderly centers of La Flota, Vistalegre, San Antón, San Andrés - San Antolín, Los Garres, La Cueva (Monteagudo), San Miguel, Santiago and Zaraíche, La Paz, Santa Eulalia - San Juan.

The Friends of Reading Foundation in charge of Puente Tocinos and La Alberca.

The senior centers of Cabezo de Torres, Rincón de Beniscornia, Javalí Viejo, El Palmar and Casillas are organized by the voluntary members.

The Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, is expected to participate in the event;

the general director of cultural goods, Juan Antonio Lorca;

the journalist and writer Carlos del Amor;

the president of the Cultural Association of teachers of Murcia Acdomur, Ana Morenilla and the president of the Friends of Reading Foundation, María Encarnación García.
