José Ballesta and Hironobu Kurosaki sign the collaboration agreement between the Consistory and the Japanese multinational NEC, for the development of a Smart Lab for Murcia.

This Innovation Center will be an open-door space that will serve as a 'testing laboratory' in which technological solutions related to traffic and public transport, parks and gardens, public safety, etc. will be tested.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of NEC Europe, Hironobu Kurosaki, today signed the collaboration agreement between the Consistory and the Japanese multinational, for the development of a Center for Innovation in the city, from which smart and safe city solutions for Murcia will be developed.

At the signing were the Councilor for Modernization and Urban Development, José Guillén, the business director of convergence in the cloud of NEC (Head with Cloud Convergence Business NEC) and responsible for smart city projects, Takeshi Kiuchi, and the director of Key Accounts (KAM) of NEC Ibérica, Olga Álvarez.

This Innovation Center will be an open-door space that will serve as a 'testing laboratory' in which the technological solutions relating to the different management areas of the municipality will be tested: traffic and public transport, parks and gardens, safety on public roads , etc.;

a meeting point for citizens, companies and other Administrations, where technological solutions for the municipality will be presented.
