Murcia celebrates next week the European Day of Music with 6 free performances (14/06/2018)

The Almudí Palace will host the recitals of Pedro Navarro Trío, Antonio Fruscella and Carlos Piñana that make up the VIII International Guitar Festival, and the Plaza Belluga the concerts of the musical group of the French Lyceum of Murcia and the Youth Orchestra 'Ciudad de Murcia '- Orfeón Fernández Caballero

Murcia will celebrate next week the European Day of Music that is commemorated on June 21 with 6 free performances.

Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesus Pacheco, explained that with the celebration of this day "we seek to promote cultural exchange through music, in addition to increasing free cultural activities in the municipality."

The week will begin at the Palacio Almudí that will host the recitals that Pedro Navarro Trío, Antonio Fruscella and Carlos Piñana will offer and that make up the VIII edition of the International Guitar Festival of Murcia.

The performances will be held on June 19, 20 and 21, at 8:00 p.m.

This edition of the festival will open on Tuesday, the 19th, Pedro Navarro Trío, formed by Pedro Navarro, Lisardo and Lluís Castany, who will offer a show conducted through a voice-over in which, through Navarro's guitar, pieces of music will be performed. reference of Paco de Lucía, such as Entre Dos Aguas, a repertoire that is completed by works by Pedro Navarro of flamenco style, and an unpublished piece in homage to the master of Algeciras.

Navarro has achieved success in such disparate points of the planet as the National Theater of Australia, The Victoria Hall in California, the Sala Cortot in Paris, Aula Magna of the University of Sydney, John Hancock Center of Chicago, Piazza Navona in Rome, National Palace of the Culture of Sofia, Eckhardt-Gramatté Concert Hall Rozsa Center of Calgary, Branch Plaza of Kansas City, Bank of America Theater in Albuquerque, Inauguration of the Cervantes Institute of Edmonton, Simón Bolívar Auditorium of Ecuador, ODTÃœ of Turkey, New Mexico University, as well as different concerts in the African continent.

On Wednesday 20 will be the turn of Antonio Fruscella who, in addition to playing their own songs, will include in his concert pieces by Miquel Llobet, Niccolò Paganini, Roland Dyens and Francisco Tárrega.

Fruscella (Campobasso-Italy) won numerous prizes in Italian national competitions (Barletta, Mottola, Recanati, Caramanico, Ortona, Pesacara, Savona) and international competitions (First prize in the Paris Duo Guitar Competition, fourth prize in Montélimar Duo Guitar Concours; Second prize in the Ecole Normale de Musique of Paris A. Cortot "in" J. Rodrigo "Competition).

He plays as a soloist or as a group in many festivals and concert series in Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Russia, Lebanon, Switzerland, Croatia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Austria, Mexico, Portugal, Germany, Taiwan, United Kingdom and Poland.

The festival will be closed on Thursday 21 by the flamenco guitarist and composer, Carlos Piñana, who will offer songs from his repertoire such as 'Las cuesta de las lajas', 'New Year in Poznan', 'Con ternura', 'Bohemia', 'Soniquete' ',' Templanza ',' Latino 'and' Bulería de Piñana '.

Piñana has performed as a soloist in cities such as New York, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Munich, Bremen, Hannover, Moscow, Stockholm, Dublin, Lausanne, Vilnius, Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw, Naples, Caserta, Milan, Amman, Tehran, El Cairo, Dubai, New Dheli, Ad Damman, Alexandria, Austin, Tokyo, Fez, Moscow, Casablanca, Mexico, Caen, Oxford, Lisbon, Porto, Tunis ...

In addition, the musical group of the French Lyceum of Murcia, composed of about 50 students of Primary and ESO, will perform at the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga on Wednesday, June 20 from 8 pm, with songs in Spanish, English and French.

Likewise, the Youth Orchestra 'Ciudad de Murcia'- Orfeón Fernández Caballero will offer a concert on Thursday, June 21, at 10 pm, also at the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga.

During the recital they will perform works by Mozart and Beethoven under the direction of Héctor J. Hurtado, winner of the II Course-Orchestra Conducting Contest, and with Laura Moratón as soloist.

Finally, on June 20 Las Anas will host an organ marathon organized by the Association of Friends of the Organ from 18 a.m. to 9.30 p.m., in which organists from Murcia, teachers and students will participate and all those who wish to do so after registration in the Association of Friends of the Organ.
