The award will be delivered tomorrow in Madrid, specifically at the Juan Carlos I fairgrounds, within the international fair of urbanism and the environment, TECMA 2018, which is held every two years.

The City of Murcia receives this award for the creation of the Municipal Office of Graffiti, for its work in the elimination of vandalic graffiti that disfigure and spoil the public and private heritage of the municipality, either through the use of traditional methods of cleaning or through of the rehabilitation of spaces with the realization of artistic murals.

During the first two years of the implementation of the Office of Graffiti cleaning interventions have been carried out in more than 11,000 square meters of surface.

More than 10,000 hours of work have been allocated and more than 1,000 applications have been received from different entities.

"It is an acknowledgment to our municipality where, through this event, we value and distinguish those actions that have been carried out to improve the management of waste, cleaning and urban cleanliness of our cities and our industries, betting to include technological advances and awareness and social innovation that serve to improve our quality of life "said Rebeca Pérez.

In addition, more than 70 activities have been carried out both artistic promotion through the realization of murals as well as participatory workshops and awareness activities.

Local, national and international artists have filled our streets with more than 42 murals.
