More than 700 schoolchildren know the values ​​of solidarity and volunteering (12/06/2018)

Under the slogan 'I can also be supportive' the children have expressed in drawings their vision of what it means to help the other without expecting anything in return, thanks to this initiative of the Volunteer Office of the Social Services Center 'Murcia Sur'

Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, accompanied by the Councilor for Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, Rafael Gomez and mayors of the Municipal Corporation, has delivered this morning of the awards to children who they have been the best drawing in a drawing their vision on how to be supportive in daily life, within the 'I can also be supportive' campaign, promoted by the Volunteer Office of the Municipal Social Services Center 'Murcia Sur'.

There have been a total of 767 schoolchildren from 2nd and 3rd grade of elementary school, from a total of 10 schools, who have participated in this educational program promoted by the Volunteer Office and which is taught through lectures and the activities of the notebook 'Yo también I can be supportive. '

Within this awareness program, 360 schoolchildren have participated in the Drawing Contest, whose prizes have been presented today in the Plenary Hall.

The first prize of the drawing contest was for Elena Gallego Gómez, (2nd year of primary school), from the Pintor Pedro Cano school in El Palmar.

The second prize went to Ángela Martínez Lloret, (3rd year of primary school), from the Maestro Enrique Laborda school in Los Dolores.

Both have been accompanied to collect trophies and prizes by their classmates, tutors and directors of the centers.

"Thanks to this educational program, children learn to reflect and identify solidarity in day-to-day everyday gestures, transmitting values ​​such as generosity and camaraderie through drawing," said Conchita Ruiz.

More than 350 Murcians join the volunteering

More than 350 residents of the municipality collaborate voluntarily in the various programs of the Department of Social Rights: children, people with disabilities or older, which shows the degree of involvement of Murcia society with its environment.
