1,140 children and adolescents can participate in 22 summer schools for free (12/06/2018)

The Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs has developed an extensive program for 1,140 Murcia children and adolescents enjoy the month of July doing different activities.

In total there are 22 summer schools that can be accessed free of charge by those born between 2006 and 2011, in general, participating in activities and workshops related to set design, singing, dancing or theater and excursions to Terra Natura, the Regional Film Archive, Tentegorra, the municipal swimming pools ...

Of all these summer schools, five (Sangonera la Seca, Zarandona, San Pío X, Cobatillas and Corvera) are organized jointly with the Department of Social Rights, and two are unique projects: the V Classrooms of Artistic-Scientific Creation of Beniaján, made in collaboration with CEPAIM, and the ARTe AL project in the Algezares Auditorium.

In addition, the councils of Education and Sports and Municipal Boards and District Boards collaborated contributing financial resources, especially in the management of buses and excursions.

The dates of completion of the schools are from July 2 to July 13 and the schedule of activities is from 10 to 13 hours in general.

Councilman Jesus Pacheco explained that "with this programming we seek, in addition to enabling the realization of alternative leisure activities in children's free time during the summer, encourage attitudes of tolerance and solidarity between them and promote training in techniques and activities of workshops that can be applied later in the summer leisure, and will be promoted in the minor healthy habits in relation to food and the environment, making different workshops that include these themes.

Thus, within the planned activities, it has been programmed in Beniaján the V Classrooms of artistic-scientific creation that will develop workshops of theater, magic, robotics and construction of drones and creation of videogames.

And in Algezares, the ARTe AL project will carry out activities related to the musical and urban art in the Algezares Auditorium.

Among the contents of the activities, the plastic arts and creation of scenographies stand out (elaboration of scenographies, with cardboard, stickers and templates);

dances on the musical (expression through the dances chosen for the preparation of the musical);

musical games (indoor and outdoor games will be performed, working motor skills with music);

urban games (with which values ​​and ways of life will be transmitted according to the culture and the region in which it is played);

singing (developing a creative process to write the songs and themes of the musical);

cinema (with an excursion to the Regional Film Archive) and theater (being the most important part that generates the musical, the script and the whole movement of interpretation on stage).

Registration, which begins today and will remain open until June 18, will be held from 5 to 9 pm, at each center.

The draw for places will take place on June 21 and the publication of the lists on the 26th of the same month.

The summer schools will be held in the cultural centers of Algezares, Beniaján, Casillas, Cobatillas, Corvera, El Carmen, El Esparragal, El Palmar, El Raal, Javalí Nuevo, La Alberca, Llano de Brujas, Los Dolores, Los Garres, Los Martínez del Puerto, San Pío X, Sangonera la Seca, Sangonera la Verde, Sucina, Torreagüera, Zarandona and Zeneta.
