On October 26, the city of Murcia will join for the third consecutive year the largest global climate change event, the Climathon, which will simultaneously participate in cities from different countries that seek to respond to the challenge of building a carbon-free economy.
The Governing Board has approved -a proposal from the Department of Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden, which directs Antonio Navarro, the participation of Murcia in this event, which is promoted by Climate-KIC, European initiative to combat change climate change, and will be coordinated by ALEM, the Local Agency for Energy and Climate Change of the City Council.
The Climathon puts in common during 24 hours ideas that allow to solve the climatic challenges of the cities, involving citizens, students, professionals and entrepreneurs that lead the most innovative solutions.
In this way, the links between business, university and administration are strengthened, and the local communities are empowered to take action against climate change.
It is an opportunity to share the main challenges of cities with citizens who have the passion and ability to solve them, so that it becomes a showcase for cities to show practical solutions in the fight against global warming.
