The Governing Board approves four operations necessary to receive the European funds that finance the city strategy (08/06/2018)

It affects three projects included in the program 'The Safe River as a backbone' and another on 'Sustainable Mobility', whose global budget amounts to 6.8 million euros, of which Europe contributes 80%.

Murcia has an injection of 14.7 million euros from the Operative Program for sustainable growth 2014-2020.

The Governing Board today adopted four final steps that will allow European funding to develop the actions of the city strategy.

Specifically, the agreements consist of the approval of three operations referred to line of action 4: the Segura River as a backbone and one of line 2: Sustainable Mobility.

The step completed today is an essential step to obtain the funding that has been granted to Murcia to develop the city strategy.

The municipality will receive a total injection of 14.7 million euros from the Murcia Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy - Innovation and Tradition of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF 2014-2020).

The operations approved today are the adequacy projects for the Segura river on the right bank for recreational use -whose budget amounts to 690,321 euros-;

plantation of vegetable species on the left bank of the Segura River -670,182 euros-, urban section;

the river Segura river walk between the footbridge of Manterola and the Autovía de Murcia and its connection with the promenade -3,557,400 euros-;

and the pedestrianization of Alfonso X El Sabio -1.881.195 euros-.

Of these budgets, European funds finance 80%.

The Murcia Strategy was recognized as one of the best in Spain in the resolution of the second call, which was attended by 185 municipalities, county councils and associations of all of Spain.

Specifically, the municipality will receive a total investment of 17.5 million euros for the development of the project 'IT Murcia: Innovation and Tradition', of which 14.7 million (80% of the total investment) corresponds to the Feder Funds and the remaining 20% ​​will be municipal co-financing.
