Green light to the call for subsidies to boost citizen participation (08/06/2018)

The Department of Pedanías, Participation and Decentralization, directed by Marco Antonio Fernández, has presented to the Governing Board for approval the regulatory bases of the second call for grants of 2018 aimed at promoting citizen participation in neighborhoods and districts.

In this way, the associations of the municipal councils of the municipality can access this year to a total of 352,000 euros, because the game of 82,334 euros agreed today must add another 270,000 euros approved in the first call, which took place in February past.

The file that received the green light this morning includes projects in La Alberca, Guadalupe, Rincón de Beniscornia, Rincón de Seca, Valladolises, Zarandona, San Ginés, Patiño and San Pío X, as well as the Santa María de Gracia-San Antonio district.

The objective of this call is to help non-profit entities and associations continue to make progress in strengthening the associative movement, thus contributing to the development of neighborhoods and districts.

"This aid, in addition to allowing dozens of entities to develop their projects, makes possible the growth of associationism and social participation, basic in a state of law," said Fernandez.

Within the framework of this call may be subsidized activities aimed at the group of citizens and the empowerment of associations, as well as cultural, tourism, festivities, sports, education, youth, health, environment, cooperation, consumption, social services and others.

Likewise, they will obtain assistance for the operation and maintenance expenses of the association itself, as well as small repair works that do not imply an increase in the patrimony of the association and the activities that complement the performance of the City Council and its citizen participation bodies. .

Associations and non-profit organizations that meet the following requirements may be beneficiaries:

Have their headquarters, registered office or that develop their activity in the territorial scope of the municipal boards, both neighborhoods and districts.

That have justified the subsidies of previous years

Not be beneficiaries of any help or economic contribution of another council of the City of Murcia or dependent body, for the activity for which this grant is requested

Do not have debts with the City of Murcia.
