The spokesman of the municipal group of Cambiemos Murcia, Nacho Tornel, has denounced today that the cultural centers and municipal auditoriums will not have technical assistance because the government team has started late the procedures for the hiring of the company that should be in charge of the service starting of next August 31, when the contract with the UTE ends.

Tornel explained that although the Consistory has begun the process of the new tender, worth six million euros and a period of validity of four years, the final award will not occur before mid-October, since it has to meet some deadlines such as the publication of the new contract in the Journal of the European Union, to which must be added the changes that have recently taken place in the head of the Culture department.

Specifically, the contract, which not only covers the cultural centers and auditoriums, but also the theaters of the municipality, includes the organization and production of shows, the hiring of monitors for cultural centers, the start-up of complementary logistics services and the realization of complementary activities, so that will be the neighborhoods and districts of Murcia "the main affected by this new lack of foresight of the government team."

"The activities scheduled by the municipal councils between September 1 and mid-October will be fully affected," said Tornel, who has also announced that Cambiemos Murcia will present at municipal meetings motions for the City Council to take appropriate measures, in order to avoid closing the service of auditoriums and cultural centers in that temporary period.

The mayor has insisted, also, that it is a basic service that the City can not fail to provide, while criticizing the local government "accustoms" to delay procedures in the most important services such as Home Help , Family Respite or the cleaning of public schools.

"Despite knowing in advance when the contracts expire, the Ballesta government is always late," he added.
