Now murcia: "the courts do not find an architect willing to make the expert report of the buildings without the license of the ucam" (04/06/2018)

Apparently, the marriage between the PP and the UCAM has led, among other things, to professionals prefer not to be involved in a thorny process and which is carried out by a private entity with a lot of power and by the political party that carries 23 years governing the municipality and the Region "

NOW MURCIA expresses its surprise that the courts that instruct the case of the alleged illegal works in the Los Jerónimos campus of the UCAM "do not find an architect willing to make the expert report of the buildings built without a license".

The municipal training notes that "apparently, the marriage between the PP and the UCAM has led, among other things, that professionals prefer not to be involved in a thorny process and that is carried out by a private entity with great power and for the political party that has been ruling the municipality and the Region for 23 years, which is precisely what has favored the development, always tinged with suspicion, of the UCAM ".

Thus, according to the information available to Murcia Now to be personado in the case, 5 architects have rejected the commission to make an expert report to assess whether the buildings without a license are removable facilities or if it is concrete buildings and brick that would have required of project and visa.

If finally the judge does not find an expert architect in the Region willing to carry out this work, he will have to look for it in other autonomous communities.

Within this same case, Now Murcia has requested today the Town Planning, Navarro Corchón, the full copy of the sanctioning record of the City against the UCAM for the absence of work license and activity in 8 buildings of the campus of Jerónimos and copy of the report issued by the Technical Service of Works and Activities, in addition to copies of all requests for regularization and allegations that have been submitted by the UCAM, as well as if there is a technical project for such possible regularization signed by a technician or engineer.

"The objective is", they affirm, "to continue analyzing a case of great relevance and that concerns us".

The last days has been news of the Decree dated April 16, 2018 of the councilor of Urbanism in which it is recognized that the UCAM lacks the corresponding activity license for eight buildings: classroom VII and IX, cafeteria, maintenance building, laboratory, copy shop, head of studies and the A / C center.

After knowing the facts, now Murcia asked last Friday, the mayor of Urbanism and the mayor Ballesta, the immediate cessation of the activity of the UCAM in the Campus of Los Jerónimos in Guadalupe, since it is a construction in which they are developing

activities that do not have a license to do so, and that are impossible to obtain, since it is not developable land.

"Lacking a license", they affirm, "is a fact of enormous seriousness, since it implies that the necessary official verifications have not been made or carried out, guarantees to have a business open to the public, such as reports of firemen, fires, etc.".

From the municipal group point out that it is not understood how this university campus can be open to the public, which has thousands of students and hundreds of professionals who use facilities every day that do not have the necessary license to exercise the activity of any business.

"The comparative grievance with all the other businesses is evident", they point out, "in which the Town Hall of Murcia does seal and close facilities at the same moment it detects the lack of an activity license".

Now Murcia has already informed the Office of the Prosecutor in December 2015 that a large part of the buildings on the UCAM campus had been built without the corresponding municipal building license, and without the reports of the General Directorate of Cultural Assets BIC environment of the Jerónimos Monastery, therefore the aforementioned buildings would be illegal.

Given this, the Court of Instruction number 5 opened preliminary proceedings in April 2016, where it continues investigating these facts.

The municipal group wonders how it has been possible that during recent years, having passed through this campus numerous officials and senior officials of the City of Murcia and the Autonomous Community, as well as the councilor of Planning, Navarro Corchón, no one has spoken about this situation until the recent decree of April 16, forced before the administrative and judicial pressure that Murcia is now exercising.
