The secretary general affirms that one of his priorities is to contribute to making the municipality of Murcia more equal, productive, modern and sustainable, "where any person can find a decent way of life and have the services they need, wherever they live"
The Municipal Congress of the PSOE of the city of Murcia today elected its Executive, in which the thirteen socialist groups are represented, headed by José Antonio Serrano as general secretary.
Serrano, whose first words have been of support and congratulations to the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, has pointed out the importance in the unity to constitute a body that will be decisive to achieve greater coordination and effectiveness of socialist policies and proposals.
"If this Congress has stood out for something it has been for the respect and generosity with which the compañeros and compañeras have acted to reach consensus, something that makes us stronger to face the challenge of turning this municipality around", declared.
One of the priorities of the Secretary General of Murcia is to contribute to "the most equal, orderly, productive, modern and sustainable municipalities, where anyone can find a decent way of life and have the services they need, wherever they live".
These objectives contrast with the policies developed by the PP in its 23 government, which in his opinion, "could be defined with three words: corruption, inefficiency and inequality."
He has valued very positively having a team that brings together experienced people, young people with great talent, feminist women, and in general, "comrades who are a true reflection of the Murcian society", with a good preparation in the topics that will coordinate, as well as good knowledge of the shortcomings and needs of the city, neighborhoods and districts.
Its purpose in the coming days will be to begin to coordinate this new team with the Municipal Socialist Group and with the mayors of 21 districts and a neighborhood, currently governed by the PSOE.
"It is not so much about talking about the problems of the municipality, something we know very well, as offering solutions and alternatives, because our goal is to improve the lives of people," he said.
It has also been proclive to contact civil society, to collect those contributions that can improve the socialist project of the municipality of Murcia.
In this regard, he announced that he will hold five monographic conferences in which social and professional groups will participate to discuss "Huerta y Pedanías", "Employment and Economy", "Infrastructures", "Social Policies" and "Culture and Sports".
In his closing speech, Serrano has appealed to the collective intelligence of the socialist militancy to act urgently and remove the municipality from the critical state in which it is located, offering Murcia and Murcia a new model of city and coexistence that build on principles of justice, equality and solidarity.
