Salary equalization of police officers and civil guards, in the FEMP (29/05/2018)

This institution approves an institutional declaration in line with that approved by the City of Murcia in the Plenary last February.

José Ballesta expressed the support of the City of Murcia "the balance in the compensation and rights of each and every one of the agents of the Security Forces of the State."

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, attended today in Madrid the Government Board of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which approved the Institutional Declaration for the Equalization of Salaries of the Security Forces and Corps, in the line approved by the City of Murcia in the Plenary last February.

José Ballesta expressed the support of the Murcia Consistory "to the balance in the rewards and rights of each and every one of the agents of the State Security Forces and Bodies, with the rest of the police bodies with competences in Spain" and recalled that "the Full already approved a motion, defended by the councilwoman Lola Sanchez, to guarantee this fact, advancing to this demand led by the agents of Civil Guard and National Police ".

In the Declaration approved today four points are agreed: 1) Declare the City of Murcia committed to equalize the salaries of the Civil Guard and National Police to the Mossos D'Esquadra and Ertzaintza.

2) Urge the government of Spain to promote a framework agreement that matches salary levels.

3) Show the strong support of the City of Murcia to the national police and Civil Guard in their work of defense and protection of the rights and freedoms of all Spaniards and, especially, from the constitutional legality, national sovereignty, the rule of law , democracy and coexistence among Spaniards.

4) Transfer this agreement to the Ministry of the Interior and the Cortes Generales.

The unions and associations of National Police and Civil Guard have valued the cost of this salary equalization around the 1,500 million euros in the next three years.
