The City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights that directs Conchita Ruiz, presented this morning the XIII Theater Show, a program of performances of the Social Centers for the Elderly for 2018 to be held at Teatro Romea, this late, tomorrow May 30 and June 12 and 13, at 5:00 p.m.

Today, May 29 is scheduled the representation of 'Cleaning the museum', 'The 50 euricos' and 'Life is mobile' of the Social Center for the Elderly of Los Martínez del Puerto, in addition to 'Pisito de maiden' represented by the Center Social of the Elderly of Santiago and Zaraiche and 'La recova' of the Social Center for the Elderly of Cabezo de Torres.

The Theater Show, which is organized every two years, aims to promote and stimulate the work involved in the staging of a play, as well as motivating participation in theater and body language courses.

"Last year, 14 training courses were held, in which almost 150 people took part in. The fundamental objectives are to encourage and promote actions that favor active aging, which encourage cognitive, artistic activities, the love of theater and cultural activities.

Promote the creation of stable theater groups in the Senior Social Centers and enhance the existing ones.

To enable the groups of the different centers to meet and exchange experiences and the relationship between them and disseminate the activities of the Centers for the Elderly to the whole population.

"To incentivize the work of the Centers, they will be endowed with an extraordinary economic allowance of 1000 euros that will be allocated to the grant of theater courses, as well as to cover general expenses for the assembly of the works, decoration, transportation and clothing" Councilwoman Conchita Ruiz added.

After the representation of the centers, a gift will be given to each of the members of the participating groups, as well as to the Senior Center they represent.
