The UMU participates in the Annual Conference 2018 of the network of university transfer offices (28/05/2018)

The Office of Transfer of Research Results of the University of Murcia has participated in the Annual Conference 2018 of the Network of University Research Results Transfer Offices (RedOTRI), held at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

The Conference brought together members of the Offices of Transfer of Research Results (OTRI) of Spanish universities and was attended by more than 150 university transfer professionals, including vice-chancellors, directors and staff of research offices, innovation and transfer of Spanish universities and OPIS, as well as entrepreneurs and investors.

This year the event was held under the slogan 'The OTRI as an actor of the new innovation ecosystem'.

Therefore, innovation has been the backbone of this edition.

A program has been developed that has addressed the transformation that universities - and their respective OTRIS - must carry out to incorporate the paradigm shift.

The inaugural round table, with representatives of different agents of the science-innovation ecosystem, addressed the strategies of the university to promote innovation through new structures, models of governance and management.

Other conferences addressed the role of the different actors in the innovation ecosystem, exposing real experiences to that effect.

In this same line, the needs and requirements of different actors related to the transfer of knowledge, such as entrepreneurs, researchers or investors were also exposed.

Other activities to highlight were the presentation of the 'Report on Science and Technology in Spain', prepared by the Alternativas Foundation and in which a balance and analysis of the current situation of research in Spain is made, as well as the 'Report of Research and Knowledge Transfer in Spanish universities 2016 ', which has become an annual reference on the evolution of research and transfer activity in Spain.

In the framework of this event, parallel sessions of the working groups that make up REDOTRI (patents, spin-off companies, R & D contracts and indicators) were also held and in which the technicians of the OTRI of the University of Murcia actively participate, in order to be able to integrate in their internal processes tools and good practices that improve the efficiency of the work of knowledge transfer that takes place in the UMU.
