Change Murcia denounces the demolition of part of the CEIP New Schools of El Palmar without consulting the municipal council (25/05/2018)

Murcia change has denounced today that the City has allowed to demolish two classrooms of the school new schools of El Palmar without first presenting the technical report and the project of demolition to the municipal board, and that has not facilitated the project requested by the training for the elimination of asbestos in that educational center.

"The information is scarce, to account drops and even contradictory, since the last document sent to Murcia Murcia in relation to the school does not include exact dates, although this is something that has us accustomed," said the member of the training Municipalist in the district, Ana Serrano.

Serrano has referred to the statements in which the Councilor for Education, Rafael Gomez, said that they were going to demolish two annexes when the demolition of the last two and four.

"Even the subcontractor was actually better informed of what was going to be demolished," he said.

The consistory closed in 2014 the School New Schools after almost seven decades running, and for some years one of its buildings houses the library of the district.

Next to this center is the Catholic school San Vicente de Paul, owned by the Catholic University San Antonio (UCAM).

With the demolition of the classrooms, as Serrano explained, the City Council "has again ignored the municipal council and the political formations, acting unilaterally and without informing or facilitating the requested projects."

"Currently we know that the municipality of Murcia together with Urbamusa are drafting the library project in New Schools, as recorded in a report of them, at the request of the Municipal Board of El Palmar," said the vowel.

The City Council has thus "ignored" the motions presented by PP, PSOE, asking for a multi-purpose center, and that of Cambiemos Murcia, converted into a joint and unanimously approved, which proposes a specific project for the development and implementation of a multicultural project in the school, that contemplates the land counting on the neighbors of El Palmar and avoiding a possible use of third parties in that center.
