El chato murciano will be the protagonist tomorrow in the finale of Gastronomy of the Contest CreaMurcia (23/05/2018)

The eight chefs selected will have two hours to prepare dishes that will revolve around the Murcian dish.

There will be a first prize of € 1,500, two runners-up prize of € 350 and the publication of a cookbook for the dissemination of their best dishes

The eight finalists of the CreaMurcia Contest, in the category of gastronomy, will play tomorrow Thursday at 18:00 hours at the Tourist Qualification Center, the final that will decide who is the best young chef or cook of the municipality of Murcia.

They will have two hours to prepare their recipe.

They will have at your disposal all kinds of appliances and kitchen utensils to be able to use the latest technology in their elaborations and presentations.

This new edition, promoted by the Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, through the Youth Service, is open to the assistance of anyone who wants to enjoy culinary creations or support the participants.

The first contestant will start at 6 pm and the rest will be incorporated one by one in periods of 10 minutes.

Finalists and dishes

"The eight finalists will elaborate for two hours their best dishes based, this year, on the Murcian dish.This is to value recipes and products that have always been linked to traditional cuisine and that can be versioned by the contestants. the awards, is an exceptional opportunity to demonstrate all the young talent that exists in our municipality "said Rebeca Pérez.

The list of participants in this edition and their choice for the contest is as follows:

- Elyson Pérez González will bet on a "Sopaipilla bittersweet with Chato Murciano"

- Ana María Sáchez Alarcón will present "Canelón de Chato Murciano"

- Alejandro Martínez Espinosa will seek the first prize with "Tataki de Chato Murciano with mayonnaise of Bimi"

- Antonio Reyes Rubio bets on "Presa de Chato a la cid de pera with a stew of wheat and rice"

- Ibán José Velasco Navarro will surprise with "Olla fresca de Chato Murciano 2.0"

- Alejandro Medina Ibánez will present "100% Murciano, Chato"

- Rosmery Barcaya Hurayo will play with the textures with the "Mondongo de Chato Murciano with rice tile"

- "Royal crunchy pot of Chato Murciano" is the proposal of Juan Azorín Hernández

Specialized jury and awards

The jury of this edition is chaired by the Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez, who will be accompanied by four specialized technicians and the Head of Program of Cultural and Educational Dynamization, who will act as secretary.

The technicians are Marta Ceballos, from the Tourism Qualification Center, Sergio Gallego, food critic of the newspaper La Verdad, Pedro Medina, manager of take-away kitchens "La Olla" and the chef of Barahonda restaurant, Cristian Palacios.

To determine which is the best chef of the CreaMurcia Contest, you will value not only the elaboration and complexity of the development of your dish, but also the presentation to the jury, the creativity or the harmony between the chosen ingredients and the taste qualities of the products.

On this occasion the winner of the contest will take a cash prize of 1,500 euros, while there will be two runners-up prizes of € 350 for two of the participants.

In addition, the cookbook of the winner will be published so that he can disseminate his gastronomic work.

Once the participation of the eight young chefs has concluded, and after the deliberations of the jury, the winners of this new edition will be announced.
