PSOE and Cambiemos Murcia affirm that the PP "continues trying" La Paz as "a business to speculate" (23/05/2018)

The municipal government disguises the claws of speculators

The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group Enrique Ayuso and the spokesman of Cambiemos Murcia, Nacho Tornel, said today in a press conference that the Popular Party "is still trying" the Polygon of La Paz, in which 5,000 people reside, as "a business to speculate, "and have criticized the mayor, José Ballesta," has not set foot "in this neighborhood in the three years leading the Corporation.

Both councilors have explained at a press conference that the Comprehensive Social Intervention Plan of La Paz, approved last Friday at the Government Board, does not include "neither a period of action, nor a single term of execution, nor an economic commitment" , which shows that the PP "does not want to solve the problems" of the neighborhood, but that these "continue to grow" to facilitate "the business of speculators" in this central area of the municipality.

Regarding the budget of the Plan, they have reported that the Governing Board did not approve any budget for the project, and that the 100,000 euros announced in a media is a "ridiculous" figure as a result of a "political decision" by the government team , which prefers to allocate the money to actions such as the pedestrianization of Paseo Alfonso X, which will cost around five million euros;

the river walk, which will involve a disbursement of 3.5 million, or the ADN Urbano project in Santa Eulalia.

"It is clear that for the PP there are first class citizens, second-class citizens and neighbors of lower categories, as is the case of La Paz," said Ayuso and Tornel, who have denounced the situation of "comparative grievance" "suffered by residents in this neighborhood for many years with respect to other urban areas, despite the urban and social needs that presents.

Ayuso and Tornel have insisted that social workers who work in La Paz "have scarce resources" and can not meet the needs of the population.

"The School of Our Lady of La Paz requires specific attention, it is necessary to transform it into CEIBas (School of Early Childhood and Basic Education) so that children can start ESO in this center and avoid the school dropout that occurs in a generalized way "

In relation to housing, councilors have called attention to the fact that in subsequent years the City has not requested aid from the Autonomous Community to rehabilitate housing, with the "clear intention" that the housing situation in La Paz keep getting worse.

"The PP is promoting inequality and disguising the claws of speculators who have always wanted to seize those 140,000 square meters," they added.

Ballesta has not gone to La Paz

They have also reported that Ballesta has not visited La Paz in these three years of the Corporation, which shows that "far from what he tries to make believe, he is not the mayor of all or for all."

Thus, the councilor has ignored the request that the Municipal Board This approved to take on June 16 of last year to request your visit to the neighborhood.
