Inmaculada Aguilar Nácher, adviser and political consultant, gave a lecture this morning at the Campus of Los Jerónimos about political communication.
During the Masterclass offered in the framework of the title of Expert in Political and Institutional Communication, Inmaculada Aguilar, who has an extensive career as both a journalist and consultant, has reflected on the considerations that society has with politics.
"I think there is a big problem of trust and disaffection between the representatives and the public," said the expert.
For this reason, it considers that political leaders receive such a low rating in surveys.
Inmaculada Aguilar argues that a politician, by virtue of being a politician, is already perceived by citizens in a reticent manner.
Therefore, he assured that "the more authentic the candidate is perceived, the better he enters the electorate".
In addition, he believes that the idea of ​​trust in the parties in favor of the people who lead them is now being abandoned.
He has also given his vision on the current situation in Catalonia, of which he believes that "an emotional problem is being solved in a rational manner".
Likewise, he considers that political times are quicker and that "more electoral decisions are being made than a sense of state".
Finally, it has reinforced the idea that it is necessary for political leaders to be consistent with their words and actions: "It is necessary for a leader to be aligned between what he thinks, what he believes, what he says and what he does. That is the great challenge of political communication, to work with people who are aligned in that sense ", concluded Inmaculada Aguilar.
