The City Council and Amupheb are moving forward in the commissioning of the first solidarity car park that will house the San Antón neighborhood (21/05/2018)

Mayor José Ballesta holds a follow-up meeting with Carmen Gil to study the progress of the various joint projects.

The parking, whose construction will begin in the next few days, will have the presence of Amupheb youth who will bring the spina bifida to society and disseminate the work of the Association.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilors of Traffic, Security and Citizen Protection, Lola Sanchez, and Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, held a follow-up meeting with the president of the Murcia Association of Parents and Children with Spine. Bifida (Amupheb), Carmen Gil, to study the progress of the various joint projects maintained by the Association and the City Council.

The most outstanding is the one that will be the first solidarity car park in Murcia, called Charity Park.

It is a new space for deterrent parking for the city that will have about a hundred seats and will be located next to the FREMM, in the neighborhood of San Antón.

The parking will be attended by young people from Amupheb who "will bring spina bifida to society, which will allow promotion and dissemination to the work we do from the Association, and in the future can be a support for the use of our young people, "said Carmen Gil, who is also president of the Federation of Murcia Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disability (Famdif-Cocemfe),

In this regard, Councilwoman Lola Sanchez said that "the contract is already formalized and construction will begin over the next few days, with a deadline of six months and an investment of 140,000 euros."

In this way, a new parking area will be offered to residents of the area bounded by San Antón, Calle de las Norias, Calle Olof Palme and Calle Nueva de San Antón, and users of different public services such as FREMM, the Maestro José Castaño school or the Jesús y María school.

The Murcian Association of Parents and Children with Spina Bifida (Amupheb), established in 1980, is a non-profit organization that has 220 users and whose mission is to promote the quality of life and full integration of those affected by spina bifida. and their families through activities and assistance services, educational, recreational, work, training, cultural, sports ...
